Stress Management is a psychological approach which teaches people skills to cope with anxiety and stress. In our practice we run both group and individual stress management programs. The programs utilise a variety of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is a well researched form of psychological therapy which has been shown by controlled trials to be the most effective treatment for many anxiety problems. Some of the techniques include: relaxation training, sleep management strategies, techniques to teach people how to recognise negative and unhelpful thinking, ‘worry control’ strategies, problem-solving skills, etc.
Individual therapy is available at all times. Group therapy programs run depending upon the level of demand for the programs at any given time.
